Lincoln County Booking Photo Records
A booking photograph records appearance during intake. Kentucky's open-records definitions include booking and inmate photographic records, but that does not make every image available in every case. Lincoln County Regional Jail keeps the local booking episode. Kentucky DOC may hold a different identification photo for a DOC-managed offender. Release does not erase either record by itself.
KRS 61.870 supplies the public-record framework. Exemptions, confidentiality, and expungement can affect access. A photo does not show whether charges were dismissed, an acquittal followed, or a sentence ended.
- Booking photo
- An image made during jail intake.
- DOC photo
- A corrections image, not always the local booking photo.
- Expungement
- A court process that can remove qualifying records from public access.
Lincoln County Mugshot Channels
No one source contains every Lincoln County release mugshot. Choose a channel by who made the image and held the person. The jail request is best for a local booking. KOOL serves DOC records. VINE serves custody notice, not photo archiving.
| Channel | Photo? | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Lincoln roster | Not verifiable | Broken frameset |
| Jail record | Requestable | Ask by person and booking |
| KOOL | Most, not all | Open the matching DOC profile |
| VINE | Not promised | Use for status and alerts |
| Agency/news | Sometimes | Match the exact event |
| Commercial copy | May exist | Unofficial and not endorsed |
A photo does not mean current custody. A missing photo does not disprove a booking. Preserve the date, booking number, and agency when comparing images.
Lincoln Release Roster Limits
The official-looking Lincoln current-inmate address is only a frameset whose main panel points to a compromised root. No current list, release window, retention term, or photo display could be verified. It cannot support a claim that the jail publishes release mugshots. This is crucial after release because a live roster normally centers on those still held.
No official Lincoln jail mobile app with a photo or recent-release feature was found. The Lincoln 24-hour release route uses jail records, VINE, court files, and DOC reports. No app from another county should be substituted. A sheriff post can document one event but cannot form a full archive.
Note: A broken roster cannot show that a photo never existed or prove that a person was released.
Request Lincoln County Booking Photos
Call Lincoln County Regional Jail at 606-365-4580 and ask for the records custodian. Do not place personal data into the compromised site root. Describe an existing photo rather than asking staff to make a gallery. Electronic delivery can limit copying cost.
- Give the full name and another identifier.
- Provide the booking date and number if known.
- Ask for the existing booking photograph.
- Request electronic format when available.
- Seek the legal basis for a denial or redaction.
- Ask for a fee estimate first.
An exemption, expungement order, or confidentiality rule may apply. Kentucky agencies generally respond to noncommercial requests within five business days, with a lawful explanation for delay. No Lincoln photo fee was verified. The Lincoln release-record search ties the photo to release time, authority, and destination.
Lincoln Agency Posts and Copies
The Lincoln County Sheriff links an official Facebook channel, but reviewed material was agency and community news, not a release-photo archive. One post can support one event. It cannot prove that every booking appears or that an old photo is current.
News may reproduce an agency image. Read its date and caption, then trace it to the named case. Commercial aggregators can retain stale copies. They are not official, none are linked, and no paid removal service is endorsed. Corrections should begin with the jail, DOC, or court that made the record.
Lincoln Mugshots and Expungement
Kentucky expungement can direct removal of qualifying court, police, and jail records from public access. Since July 15, 2020, qualifying acquittals and dismissals with prejudice are automatically expunged after 30 days unless the defendant objects. Other cases follow their own eligibility, waiting period, fee, and order rules. Match an order to the exact booking before seeking an update.
The Kentucky Court of Justice expungement resource explains that process.

The court material ties public access changes to case outcome and legal process, not merely to time after release.
For an error, send the jail or DOC the identifier, disputed field, and supporting order. KRS 61.8746 restricts specified commercial pay-to-remove publication. It does not promise that every copy vanishes at once.
Kentucky Rules for Lincoln Mugshots
Kentucky defines booking photos while preserving exemptions and court limits. That balance matters because Lincoln has no working local photo archive. A narrow request to the jail is more sound than assuming each image should appear online.
Ask for one known booking image. If denied, seek the legal basis. When expungement applies, give the case number and order to the custodian. The pay-to-remove rule addresses commercial republication. It does not turn a copied image into an official release record or promise instant deletion.
Note: Use the release transaction and court disposition to interpret a photograph; the image alone has no current custody status.
Lincoln DOC Photo Differences
KOOL is the right photo channel only when Kentucky DOC manages the person. Its FAQ says most, but not all, offender profiles contain a photograph. A camera icon marks availability. Institution photographs are updated at least once a year or after a major change in appearance. That image may be newer than the Lincoln booking photo and may have been made at a prison rather than the county jail.
Search KOOL with little data first, then compare offender number, name, status, and location. A wrong search field can suppress the correct result. Read the photo beside the sentence and custody data. KOOL shows only the last ten convictions and warns that newer information may not be final, so it is not a complete Lincoln case history.
A person who only had a local pretrial stay or misdemeanor term may never have a KOOL profile. In that case, go back to the jail request and Lincoln court record. Conversely, a DOC profile can remain after prison release because community supervision or historic sentence information continues. The presence of the picture is not proof of confinement.
Correct Lincoln County Photo Records
Send corrections to the office that made the image or attached the disputed data. For the local booking photo, call the jail and provide the booking number, inaccurate field, and supporting court order. For a KOOL image or DOC field, use the Department of Corrections record route and the offender number. The Lincoln jail cannot fix a state-created profile.
The jail's legacy text says staff will try to verify and correct reported inmate-record errors, but no safe correction form was found. Use the verified telephone number to ask for the present procedure. Do not upload identity documents to the contaminated root. Keep a copy of the request and any written response so later copies can be traced to the corrected source.
Match Lincoln County Booking Photos
A photograph must be tied to the correct booking before it has record value. Compare the person’s full name, booking number, booking date, and originating agency. An old Lincoln jail image can remain in a copied post after a later case ends. A Kentucky DOC profile photo may have been made at a prison and updated after the local booking. Similar appearance alone cannot connect the two records.
Ask the jail to identify the custody episode associated with the requested photo. The release transaction can then supply the actual release date and time, reason, authority, and destination. The Lincoln court case supplies the bond, dismissal, judgment, probation, or expungement order. Those fields give the image context that the picture itself lacks. They also help separate a local release from a transfer or DOC-managed discharge.
When KOOL has a camera icon, read the photo beside the offender number and current status. Most, but not all, profiles have images. A missing camera icon does not mean the person was never booked or held. It means that this particular state profile does not offer a public photo through that route. A local jail request remains the direct way to seek the Lincoln booking image.
Review Lincoln Mugshot Responses
A records response may produce the image, withhold it under a cited rule, redact part of the associated material, or explain that no responsive record was found. Read the response narrowly. “No record found” can reflect the identifiers or date range used. It does not establish that the person was never held. Check the booking number and ask whether older material moved under an agency retention schedule.
If an expungement order covers the case, send the exact order and case number to the jail or DOC custodian. Qualifying records can be removed from public access across court, police, and local jail systems. Copies elsewhere may update later. Kentucky’s commercial pay-to-remove restriction addresses specified publication practices, but it does not make a commercial copy an official source and does not replace correction of the originating record.
Preserve the request, response, and source date together. If a photo later appears in an agency post or news report, compare it with the official response rather than assuming the post is current. A dated, source-linked record trail protects against confusing an old arrest image with present custody or a new release event.
Date Lincoln County Photo Sources
Record when each photograph and source page was checked. A jail booking image, a DOC identification photo, and an agency post may all show the same person at different times. The source date, booking identifier, and case number keep those images from being treated as one current record. If appearance has changed, rely on the identifiers rather than a visual guess.
Source dates also help after a correction or expungement. An older captured copy may predate the court order or agency update. Preserve it only to explain the source history, not as proof of present public status. The originating record custodian remains the place to verify whether the official image is now available, restricted, corrected, or removed from public access.
