Escape and death may end physical presence but are not conventional release outcomes. A court order can precede the actual exit while jail staff process holds, property, and receiving-agency checks. For that reason, pair legal authority with the recorded release time.

For a DOC-managed release, the dated state report carries DOC number, name components, release type, released-from facility, and highest felony class. A KOOL profile adds status, location, supervision, sentence, and date fields as available. Court records may show bond, disposition, judgment, probation, revocation, or discharge, but not always the minute jail processing ended.
Request Lincoln County Release Records

Lincoln Release Access and Expungement
Kentucky’s Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access. KRS 61.870 expressly includes booking and inmate identification photographs as public-record subject matter. That definition does not guarantee release of every image. KRS 61.878 and other laws may protect juvenile, sealed, expunged, medical, private, or active-investigation material.
Retention differs from web display. Booking, jail, and court records can remain after a name leaves a roster, subject to retention schedules, lawful destruction, and access restrictions. Qualifying acquittals and dismissals with prejudice have been automatically expunged after 30 days since July 15, 2020, unless the defendant objects. Older files may have moved from the clerk to the State Records Center or may have been lawfully destroyed. The clerk must provide a locator before the center can retrieve a transferred file. The jail’s legacy text says staff will try to verify and correct inmate-record errors when notified, but it provides no dedicated correction form. The dated Daily Releases archive is stronger for confirming that a DOC-managed release occurred on a report date. Search nearby business dates and match DOC number and “Released From.” Local bond-outs may never appear.
