Lincoln County Projected Release Dates
A projected date is a current calculation, not a record of completed release. It can estimate when a sentenced person may leave a DOC institution or county jail under the sentence and credits then recorded. Actual release is the physical custody event. That event may occur on the expected date, later because of a hold or changed calculation, or through a different authority such as parole.
Pretrial custody works differently. A person held at Lincoln County Regional Jail before case disposition may leave after bond, a release order, dismissal, transfer, or another court event. There may be no sentence from which to compute a release date. For a locally sentenced person outside DOC authority, the judgment, jail-credit order, and jail calculation are the useful records.
Transfer also matters. Leaving Lincoln County Regional Jail for a state prison, another jail, federal custody, or immigration custody ends the local stay but is not release to the community.
Lincoln County DOC Date Labels
Kentucky Offender Online Lookup uses several distinct labels. Its advanced search has “Projected Release Date From” and “To” filters. An individual record can display more specific fields. They should be quoted exactly because each answers a different question.
| KOOL label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Expected Time To Serve (TTS) | A DOC estimate tied to the sentence calculation. |
| Minimum Expiration of Sentence Date (Good Time Release Date) | The current earliest expiration calculation with applicable credits. |
| Parole Eligibility Date | The point when parole consideration may become possible, not promised release. |
| Maximum Expiration of Sentence Date | The sentence endpoint under the current calculation. |
| Proposed Release Date | A date in parole history that may remain conditional. |
No one field proves that the person left. A proposed parole date can depend on approved placement and a signed certificate. A minimum expiration date can change when case data or credit changes. The dated Kentucky DOC Daily Releases report is stronger event-level confirmation for a DOC-managed release.
Find Lincoln County Projected Release
Choose the route by custody type. For a state prisoner or a DOC-managed offender housed in a county jail, begin with KOOL. Search by name or offender number, compare identity details, and open the profile. Read status, location, sentence data, and the full date label. KOOL does not cover every Lincoln arrest, pretrial stay, or misdemeanor sentence.
For a local jail sentence, call Lincoln County Regional Jail and request the current calculation route. Pair it with the judgment and credit order from the Lincoln Circuit Court Clerk. For a pretrial case, ask for the current bond or release order rather than demanding a projected sentence date that may not exist.
- Identify whether the person is pretrial, locally sentenced, or under Kentucky DOC authority.
- Read the court judgment, sentence structure, offense date, and prior-confinement credit.
- Search KOOL when DOC has authority and record the exact date label and access date.
- Check the applicable credit and violent-offender rules without assuming eligibility.
- Ask DOC or the jail for the current case-level computation when an exact figure is needed.
- After the date passes, confirm the event through the agency record, VINE, or DOC Daily Releases.

Lincoln County Sentence Credits
KRS 197.045 governs Kentucky sentence credit for prior confinement, qualifying educational or program accomplishment, good behavior, meritorious service, and other authorized categories. Eligibility and exclusions apply. Credit is not a flat amount that can safely be subtracted from every sentence.
For qualified state felons housed in county jails, 501 KAR 2:060 Section 12 routes statutory, meritorious, educational, and qualifying jail substance-program credit through KRS 197.045 and DOC policy. This does not create a universal Lincoln County good-time rule for pretrial detainees or ordinary misdemeanor stays. DOC holds the case-level calculation for people under its authority.
Concurrent sentences run at the same time, while consecutive sentences run one after another. Prior-confinement credit accounts for qualifying time already held. Disciplinary forfeiture can remove credit, and restoration may later alter the calculation. A corrected judgment or jail-credit entry can also move a displayed date without any new release decision.
The court and corrections records serve different roles in that calculation. A judgment establishes the sentence imposed and whether terms run together or in sequence. A credit order can document qualifying time already served. DOC then applies the governing credit rules to a person under its authority. When a KOOL date conflicts with a judgment or known jail-credit order, preserve the field label and access date, then ask the record holder for the current computation rather than doing an unofficial subtraction.
Note: No Lincoln-specific weekend early-release statute or local good-time policy was verified, so a projected weekend date should be confirmed directly.
Lincoln County Violent-Offender Rule
Current KRS 439.3401, effective July 15, 2026, requires covered violent offenders serving a term of years to serve at least 85 percent before the forms of early release listed in the statute. Covered life-sentence provisions use a 20-year minimum, subject to the statute. The offense list, qualifying circumstances, offense date, credit limits, and exceptions control.
It is inaccurate to say all Kentucky inmates serve 85 percent. Many people and sentences fall outside the violent-offender definition. A reliable calculation needs the conviction offense, offense date, judgment, prior jail credit, consecutive or concurrent structure, credit eligibility, and DOC's current computation. Parole eligibility also does not guarantee a favorable Board action or physical release.
Why Lincoln County Dates Change
A release calculation changes when one of its legal or factual inputs changes. The reason may shorten the estimate, extend it, or replace the expected path with a different custody event. The agency record should identify the revised field and authority.
| Factor | Possible effect | Record to check |
|---|---|---|
| Prior-confinement credit | Moves the calculation when qualifying held time is added or corrected | Judgment, credit order, DOC calculation |
| Program, education, or meritorious credit | May change minimum expiration when authorized | DOC computation |
| Disciplinary forfeiture or restoration | Can delay or later revise the credited date | DOC credit record |
| Corrected judgment or new sentence | Changes sentence length or structure | Court docket and amended judgment |
| Parole action | Can create a conditional proposed date or defer release | KOOL parole table and Board record |
| Detainer or hold | Can cause transfer to another authority instead of community release | Custody and receiving-agency records |
A warrant, revocation, or new sentence can also return a released person to custody. That later event does not erase the earlier release, but it changes the current status.
Parole adds another layer. A hearing date is not an eligibility date, and eligibility is not release. The Kentucky Parole Board may recommend release, defer consideration, order a serve-out, or rescind a recommendation before the person departs. Placement approval, the signed certificate, and any detainer can affect the result. Read the KOOL parole-history label with the Board record and current custody location before treating a proposed date as final.
Lincoln County Release Date Quirks
Kentucky's public interface creates a common reading error: “Projected Release Date” is used as an advanced-search criterion, while individual records display Expected Time To Serve, Minimum Expiration, Parole Eligibility, Maximum Expiration, and Proposed Release Date. These fields are related but not interchangeable. Copying a date without its label can turn eligibility into a false release claim.
The best method preserves the label and checks the next event. A Parole Information row can show a favorable recommendation while placement remains pending. Minimum expiration can reflect available credit but still be affected by a detainer. Maximum expiration is not proof that a person stayed confined until that date. For a DOC-managed person, the Daily Releases archive gives dated event reports with DOC number, name, release type, released-from facility, and highest felony class.
A row naming Lincoln County Regional Jail may confirm that a DOC-managed offender was released from that site. It does not turn the statewide archive into a complete Lincoln County release feed, and it does not cover every local bond-out or misdemeanor release. The named release type still controls the record's meaning.
County custody therefore needs its own check. A bond or recognizance order can authorize release without creating a DOC projected date. Dismissal, time served, probation, or transfer can also end the Lincoln jail stay. The court file shows the legal authority, while the jail transaction records when staff completed the release or transfer. Pairing those records prevents a state sentence field from being applied to a local pretrial stay.
Confirm Lincoln County Actual Release
Once a projected date approaches, check the source again because KOOL data and legal status can change. Kentucky VINE can provide a custody-change alert for a named person in participating county and state systems. A not-in-custody result with a date corroborates release from the reporting custody, while a transfer event or new facility shows continued custody.
The Lincoln County VINELink inmate search can be used for notification, but VINE is not a certified release record. Kentucky reported false alerts from a vendor incident in February 2026, which makes independent confirmation important. For a local release, request the Lincoln jail booking/release transaction and compare the court authority. For a state event, use KOOL, Daily Releases, and DOC records. A federal or immigration transfer must be followed in that agency's locator.
